Pixel Quest is a classic side-scrolling platformer that drops you into a bright, coin-strewn world with one goal: reach the flag waving at the far right of every stage. It is a full running-and-jumping adventure in the tradition of retro platform games, built to play instantly in your browser. You dash across ledges, leap over gaps and hop onto the heads of wandering critters to squash them flat. With three lives to your name and coins scattered along every route, each level is a quick, satisfying test of timing and nerve that is easy to pick up and hard to put down.

Controls are pleasantly simple: press the left and right arrows to move, and tap Space or the up arrow to jump. The trick is in the enemies. Land squarely on a critter from above and you stomp it out of existence, but brush into one from the side and you lose one of your three lives. Coins are pure points, so greedy detours are rewarded if you can survive them. The flag at the level's end sends you onward through 15 stages of steadily rising difficulty, where gaps grow wider, critters cluster tighter and the safe path to that flag gets narrower with every screen.

Success comes down to reading each screen before you leap: line up your jumps so you drop onto enemies rather than into them, and never grab a coin you cannot land safely after. Because progress saves automatically, you can chip away at the later levels a few at a time and pick up right where you left off.
